Remembrance of Love – TAJ MAHAL

I still remember, it was my cousins marriage and after completion of all the ceremonies his beautiful filipino wifey expressed her desire to visit TAJ MAHAL. She was so impressed by Emperor Shajahan, who actually got this monument constructed for his beloved wife. My dear brother made all the arrangements over night and informed us that we are on for a journey by road, early morning next day.

Ah! If Shajahan can built a monument, my brother can surely make sure his wife’s desire is fulfilled… That’s love, isn’t it.

So the next morning, early as 5am we all left to visit one of the WONDERS OF THE WORLD. Well do you know why TAJ MAHAL is one of the wonders …

Well the answer is that The Taj Mahal is a unique, massive, impressive architectural accomplishment of it’s time, 55 meters high. The Statue of Liberty could fit inside it easily (46m). it to be the most beautiful building ever built. The date of its completion plus the reason for its existence, add to the wondrous nature of the structure. Construction begun in 1632, and completion of the entire complex took about 22 years. One thousand elephants and twenty thousand workmen were employed on it daily. To take care of their accommodation a small town, named after the deceased empress-‘Mumtazabad, now known as Taj Ganj, was built adjacent to it.

Doesn’t it sounds Amazing … Wow a great effort by a loving husband for his late beloved wife.

Now with such a strong and impressive history who would not love to visit it at least for once. On the way you can enjoy food in lovely road side restaurants (dhaba’s) with some monkey friends and heavy terrific traffic.

Finally after a 3hrs drive and covering a distance of 150km, we were at Agra, TAJ MAHAL. The first thing we noticed, was a long que to enter the great historic place. Since we were in a group, all cousin’s together so walking towards Taj in that long que was possible.

It was month of December and Sun God was glowing lovingly on all of us, gifting us hot sun bath…. But the desire to witness the amazing beauty of Taj Mahal kept us motivated.

Finally, we were inside the Main entry gate, after full security check.

Just believe me TAJ MAHAL looked so radiant that for few minutes we just couldn’t move our eyes from it. Yes, yes it was worth a visit. A monument made for love of a man’s life.

As the time was passing, the crowd started flowing in and below is a view from Taj.

You have to again face the que to actually enter Inside the monument.

Beautiful Yamuna River was flowing on the backside and certainly worked as an air-conditioner for all the visitors.

As the evening grew, TAJ MAHAL looked more radiant. It was one of the most memorable visit one can dream of…

Do visit TAJ MAHAL, whenever you visit Incredible INDIA.
